Research Notes

His Fiind a Grave DAR plaque gives little information to tell us if this is the same person. His older brother Michael was born in Maryland. It's logical to conclude that he too was born in Frederick, Maryland like his brothers. According to new information, Johann, or John, as I prefer to call him, didn't change the spelling of his surname until after he and his family moved to Virginia. His brothers changed their surname at a later date. Our current research has come to a standstill, but in the future we hope to find new information to add to this file to improve it. For now this will remain a work in progress.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Recommend some additional research to try to find a source for Johannes' place of birth. Records indicate that his three siblings were all born in Frederick County, Province of Maryland, and that his parents lived in Frederick County at the time of his birth. Other researchers may have inadvertently attached German birth records for someone with the same name to this individual.

Cullers-124 and Cullers-36 appear to represent the same person because: They have same birth years, death dates and wives.

Cullers-36 and Kullers-1 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same people, just different spelling of the name
