Biography

Jessie was born in Jul 1870 to her parents William and Jane Kimber in Rushford, Winnebago, Wisconsin. She is listed on the 1870 US census as infant Kimber along with her two older sisters, Ella and Mary. Ella was born in New York but Mary and Jessie were born in Wisconsin. ^[1] Her family, which now included her sister Cora, was enumerated in the town of Onondaga, Onondaga, New York for the NY census. ^[2]

In the 1880 US Census, the family is still living in Onondaga but has now grown to include Hattie, age 3 and Willie, age 1. ^[3]

Jessie marries John Holmes McClary in 1890 and with their three children, John Holmes McClary, Jr; Frederick Kimber McClary; and Bertha A. McClary were enumerated in Onondaga, LaFayette township in the home of her in-laws. ^[4]

Jessie and her family remained in Onondaga, LaFayette township where husband, John maintained a farm. ^[5][6][7][8].

But in 1939, Jessie would lose her husband, John ^[9] and in 1940, it would be Jessie and her daughter, Bertha living in the town of LaFayette for the US Census. ^[10]

Jessie would die in 1954 and be buried in the same cemetery with her husband, Onondaga Valley Cemetery. ^[11]
