Biography

Newton, a twin, was born 27 April 1843 in Jackson County, Tennessee. ^[1] He was the son of Noah Kuykendall and Katherine Anderson.

Newton can be found with his parents and siblings in the 1850 census records of Jackson County, Tennessee. ^[2]

Newton was still living with his parents when the 1860 census records were taken for the newly created Putnam County, Tennessee. ^[3]

Newton died on 10 November 1860, and is buried in Smyrna Cemetery, Putnam County, Tennessee. ^[4]

Research Notes

Find a Grave has a date of death as 10 November 1866. The photograph of the tombstone is very difficult to read as to the death year. It appears to be 1860 and not 1866.
