Biography

John Lamb was born March 28, 1691, in Springfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America to Daniel Lamb and Elizabeth (Atchison) Old [1]

John married Sarah Jones February 3rd, 1715 in Springfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony [2]. John and Sarah's first recorded child, Daniel, was born April 6, 1716[3].

John served in Springfield as a hog reeve (1715), tithingman (1718, 1725, 1730), constable (1720), fence viewer and field driver (1723), and surveryor (1727).[4][5]

Research Notes

Marriage date in original handwriting in 2 different records is written as 1714/15, so unclear which year but placement in the book amongst other marriages of the time makes the 1715 date possibly more likely. Also record of their first child is 1716.
