Jan Lambertszen was born in Oldenzijl in the Netherlands.

He emigrated to New Netherland, where he (Jan Lambertszen, from Oldenzeel) was recorded as the father of a child named Hendrick, baptized 10 May 1654 in the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam.
