Jean Louis was born about 1764 in France. He is the son of Louis Lamoureux and Marie Hébert.
In September 1784 his parents were on a list of Acadian families in Nantes who wish to establish themselves in Louisiana. There were two children in the family home, a boy (likely Jean-Louis) and a girl (Adelaïde). [2]
In 1785 Louis and Marie immigrated to Louisiana aboard La Caroline, and disembarked in New Orleans on 17 December 1785 with children Louis and Adélaïde. Louis was 20 years of age, a sailor. [3] They were first listed on the ship L'Amitié but did not embark on that ship.
He died in Louisiana. [4]
On the list of the Acadian families "who want to go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His Catholic Majesty, dated Sep 1784 (cited as A.D.S. Legajo 2575).
