Daniel was a Captain in the Connecticut Militia. He commanded a company which turned out to repel the enemy at New Haven in 1779. Per D.A.R. Lineage Books.
Connecticut Men in the Revolutionary War. Page 549 lists Daniel as Captain, Connnecticut Militia. Page 625 lists Capt. Daniel Lankton. 15th Connecticut Militia Regiment.[1]
His name switched back and forth between Langton and Langdon over the years. Specifically, note the death record uses Langdon and his headstone shows Langton.
I do not think Simeon linked on here is their child. I think he possibly belongs to Parents: Hezekiah Root 1747 - 1808 and Mary (Barnes) Andrus 1756 - . 10/31/21 sent a message to his record owner. Findagrave #65518845. 1/2/21 Removed Simeon as a child. Did not hear from record owner.
