The missing information is the question of the maiden name of her mother, Elizabeth - was it Toms? or some other name? John Wood was AKA John Leach.
There is no known documentary evidence surrounding Elizabeth herself to suggest that Elizabeth Leach, also known as Elizabeth Wood, was also Elizabeth Toms. The only document known to contain the Toms surname was the death certificate of one of her children who died in the 20th century. If the information was known at that time, why was it not know in 1857? I don't know who Elizabeth Toms was (and yes there was one) but I don't believe she was Elizabeth Leach / Elizabeth Wood who was in Australia.
Esther was born in 1824. She passed away in 1914.
