Walter was born 1 Apr 1882 at Milton, Moshulatubbee District, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, the son of James Leard and Cora McCarty. Walter passed away 10 Jul 1948 at Hugo, Choctaw, Oklahoma. He is buried at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma.[2]
