Biography
Samuel Lockridge served with Augusta County Militia, Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.
Samuel Lockridge is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A071783.
Samuel Lockridge was the son of William Lochridge and Elizabeth (Unknown).[1]
Samuel was born in 1765. He passed away in 1812.
Samuel Lockridge had two wives. the first is assumed to be Elizabeth Hamilton the daughter of Andrew Hamilton OF Augusta County Virginia but her name has never been proved. His second wife is Elizabeth Khale and is known to be the wife of Samuel Lockridge. Elizabeth died February 11 1851 and is buried in Brown County, Indiana.
The children of Samuel and Elizabeth Hamilton are; Elizabeth (Betsy) Gwynn b1784, Sally Gwynn b1786, Rebeccah Kinkaid b1786, Margaret (Peggy) Kinkaid b1788, Nancy Kinkaid b1789, Andrew Lockridge (Anna Daggy) b1790 d January 14,1874 in Marshall County Indiana. Alice Guy b1791, Jane (Jinney) Fulton b1792. All born in Augusta County, Virginia.
The children of Elizabeth Khale are; Eleanor (Elender) Daggy B May6,1800 d February 22,1842, Mary (Polly) Ptomey b May19,1806 d June 3, 1874, Catherine Ptomey b1809, Samuel Lockridge (Mary Meek) b1809, Savannah McAlary b1812, James Allen Lockridge (Nancy Hall, Delana Green Butler Tackett) Elizabeth, Eleanor, Mary died in Brown County, Indiana. Catherine died in Indiana. Samuel died in Warren County, Iowa, James Allen died in Miami County ,Indiana.
