Biography

Jerzy Marian Łojszczyk was born on 9 April 1942 in Warszawa, Poland, the eldest son of Waleria Weronika (Zielińska) Łojszczyk (1922–2014) and Marian Tadeusz Łojszczyk (1917–1998).

  • From June 1947 to January 1948 he lived with his family at DP Camp Fernblick in Osnabrück.[1]
  • On 18 October 1949 he was examined in Fallingbostel, Germany, and certified as fit for emigration to Australia by the Australian DP Selection Team.[2]
  • On 1 February 1950 he departed Seedorf, Germany, aboard the Castelbianco, arriving in Sydney, New South Wales, on 2 March 1950.[3]

He was naturalized as an Australian citizen on 27 March 1963 in West Wallsend, New South Wales.[4][5]

By 1977 he was working as a metallurgist and living at 7 Lois Crescent, Cardiff, New South Wales.[6]

Jerzy died in 2014 in Newcastle, New South Wales, aged 72.
