Roman Witold Łojszczyk was born on 25 May 1946 in Papenburg, Emsland, Lower Saxony, Germany, the son of Marian Tadeusz Łojszczyk and Waleria Weronika (Zielińska) Łojszczyk.^[1]

• From June 1947 to January 1948 he lived with his family at DP Camp Fernblick in Osnabrück.^[2]
• On 18 October 1949 he was examined in Fallingbostel, Germany, and certified as fit for emigration to Australia by the Australian DP Selection Team.^[3]
• He immigrated via Naples, Italy, on 10 January 1950, recorded on his mother’s Certificate of Identity.^[4]
• On 1 February 1950 he departed Seedorf, Germany, aboard the Castelbianco, arriving in Sydney, New South Wales, on 2 March 1950.^[5]

He was naturalized as an Australian citizen on 27 March 1963 in West Wallsend, New South Wales.^[6][7]

By 1972 he was working as a policeman and living in Coogee, New South Wales.^[8] From 1977 to 1980 he resided in The Warren, New South Wales.^[8]

Roman died in 1999 aged 53 and was buried on 21 May 1999 in Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle.^[9]
