Biography

Guy Long was an Oklahoman.

Guy Wainwright Long was born in 1899. He was the son of Alvin Long and Phoebe Morris. As a young man, Guy worked in the Oklahoma oil fields, and he worked for Continental Oil Company from 1927 to 1944.

Guy always loved children, and even before he had his own children: he would often take his nephew Scott Marvin Jr. fishing on the family farmland. Guy married Della Mae Moon on 25 December 1926 in Los Angeles, California. Together they had eleven children. They were very religious and were faithful members of The True Followers of Jesus Christ Church, and they brought their children up in the church. Guy had grown up on a farm, and he worked his own farm after he left the oil company.

In the 1950 census, Guy is working at the local large oil refinery, and he and Della Mae were living in Enid. They later moved to a nearby farm, but returned to Enid in their older years.

Guy was able to provide well for his children, and he was greatly loved by all of them.

Together they had these eleven children: Mary Ann, Gene, Paul, Martha, Dorothy, Lois, John, Tom, Ruth, Bob, and Doris.

Guy Long passed away in 1974 at his home in Enid, Oklahoma.
