Biography

Ruth was born 25 July 1907 to Nora Turner Bates and James Winfield Scott Lynch.

She had one brother Homer Dennis Lynch who was born in 1898. Homer died at the age of 25 from diabetes. Their mother, Nora, never fully recovered from his death. Ruth dropped out of high school for a time to take care of her and told of often finding her mother at the cemetery by Homer's grave in the middle of the night.

Ruth went back to school, graduated, and went on to Middle Tennessee State Teachers College in Murfreesboro Tennessee, becoming a school teacher. She taught in several rural one-room schoolhouses.

Mary Ruth Lynch Lunn died in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego County, California on May 3, 1996. ^{[1] [2]}
