Biography

Joseph Mann (also known as Joseph Baylis) was a son of Sarah Mann and William Baylis.[1]

Birth

He was born in Bluntington, Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire, England and was baptised 13 September 1818 at the Parish Church of St Cassian, Chaddesley Corbett.[1]

Marriage

Joseph Mann and Harriet Gould were married 11 July 1843 at the Parish Church of St Cassian, Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire, England.[2][3]

  • 1851 (married) at Woodrow, Chaddesley Corbett.[5]

Research Notes

  • Joseph Mann has sometimes been shown as a son of John Mann and Mary Tyers. This is incorrect as no father is named on his marriage record.[2]
  • His baptism record shows him to be the son of Sarah Mann and William Baylis, born 3 months before they were married.[1]
  • He was generally known as Joseph Mann, except in the 1881 census when he is recorded as Joseph Baylis.
