According to Janet Jehn, her name was Esther Courtenay, and she was born about 1712 in England or Ireland. She married Jean Hebert in Liverpool, England, between 1755 and 1763. In 1763 the family was aboard the ship LeSturgeon as neutral French delivered to Sr. de la Rochette at Liverpool. In 1767, they were living at the village of Bordrehouant, parish of Locmaria, France.[2]
According to the Genealogy of Canada website (aka Nosorigines), her name was Esther Mares dit-Courtenay, and her birth was estimated in 1738. She married Jean Hebert 08 October 1763 at Liverpool, England.[3]
