Biography

Clifton Maupin is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Clifton was born in 1806. He was the son of John Maupin and Nancy Collins.

He married his second cousin once removed, Margaret Woods on 17 Sep 1829 in Marriage, Boone County, Missouri.[1] Their children:

  1. Elizabeth W. Maupin (1831-1878), m. William Maupin
  2. Nancy G. Maupin (1833– ? )
  3. Amanda Maupin (1836– ? )
  4. Susan Maupin (1838–1838)
  5. Anna Maupin (1840–1910)
  6. Rice Clifton Maupin (1842– ? )
  7. Nathaniel Woods Maupin (1844– ? )
  8. James H. Maupin (1849– ? )
  9. Margaret E. (1855– ? )

The 1850 Census[2] shows him at age 43 with his wife and six children in Monroe Township, Monroe County, Missouri.

The 1860 Census[3] shows him at age 53 with his wife and four children in Washington Township, Monroe County, Missouri.

The 1870 Census[4] shows him at age 64 with his wife, three children, and several other household members in Washington Township, Monroe County, Missouri.

He passed away in 1872. [5]
