Biography
Andrew Jackson was born in 1815 in Edgefield District S.C. on the family farm. He was the son of Dennis McCarty and Mary Unknown.
He married first Henrietta Stewart in 1835 in Edgefield.. She was the sister of the wife of Thomas McCarty, his brother.
The couple had 2 children Mary and William D.
He married second Susannah Pope Abney in 1849 in Edgefield, Edgefield, South Carolina, United States [1]
The couple had at least 7 children.
After Andrew returned from the Civil War the family struggled to overcome the distruction of their lands, discouraged, the family moved West to join other family members in Mississippi.
