Research Notes

The obituary mentions that William (referred to as Billy in one of his brother's obituaries) was living at Davenhill Crest, which was a nursing home at one point. The address given in the Directory of Medical Facilities is 901 Tremont (avenue) in Davenport, Iowa. This building is also known as the Renwick Mansion.

From 1907, the Renwick Mansion became part of St. Katharine's School. In 1983 it was recorded on the National Register of historic places, and at some point had been converted to apartments. In 1997 it was renovated for some unspecified purpose, and in 2007 it became an event facility with 8 bedrooms for guest accommodation. In 1989, two years before William died, it is referred to as the Davenhill Crest Nursing Home in another obituary for a resident.
