Mary McGregor was born on 26 April 1819 in Ballintomb, Kirkmichael, Banffshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of Alexander Mcgregor (~1778–1857) and Grace Ann Cameron (~1784–~1870).[1]

Mary had a brother, John Mcgregor (bef. 1 September 1810 – 17 October 1885).

Mary married Charles Grant, and together they had at least 4 known children:

  • Alexander McGregor Grant, 1842–1925
  • Robert Grant, 1847
  • Isabella Grant, 1850
  • Charles Grant, 1855

Mary died on 16 January 1896 in New Pitsligo, Tyrie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, aged 76.
