Anne Melanson was born in 1686. She was the daughter of Pierre Melanson and Marguerite Mius. She was one day old on the 1686 Baye des Mines census.
In 1686, at Baye des Mines, Anne, aged 1 day, was living with her parents, Pierre MELANCON, dit La Verdure (sic), aged 54, and Marie MIUS DAUTREMON (sic), aged 36, and her eight siblings: Philippes (sic), aged 20, Cecile, aged 18, Pierre, aged 16, Marie, aged 13, Marguerite, aged 10, Isabelle (sic), aged 7, Jean, aged 5, and Magdeleine, aged 2. They owned 12 guns and were living on 50 arpents of cultivable land with 31 cattle, 8 sheep, and 27 hogs.[1]
She married le Sieur Thomas Jacob (sic Jacau de Fiedmont), master cannoneer for the fort of Port Royal, son of Samuel Jacob and Judith Filleau of Ars, Saintonge, Saintes, France 15 October 1705 at Port Royal. The bride and groom both signed.[2][3]
Known Children
In 1715, Thomas and her oldest daughter, Marie Anne, were in France while Anne was in Louisbourg, île Royal. In 1716, the family was together at Port- Dauphin, île Royal.[4]
Anne passed away after the 1734 Census.[5] Alternatively, per un-sourced Ancestry trees 2 Oct 1745 at St Martin, Puy-de-Dome, Auvergne, France.
In the original 1686 census at Baye des Mines, Melanson was spelled Melancon, Laverdure was spelled la Verdure and transcribed La Verdure, d'Entrement was spelled Dautremon, Philippe was spelled Phillipes, Elisabeth was written Isabelle, Magdeleine was spelled Magdelaine, and Anne was the unnamed one day old child.[6]
