Biography
First wife unknown died early leaving four young children.
Joesph married Mrs. Mary Ragsdale on 17 July 1845 in Daviess County, Indiana.
Possibly from Sligo, Ireland. The ship "Douglas" left from Sligo, Ireland and arrived in New York on 6 July 1829 with passengers including Joseph Metedith, age 20, and James Meredith, age 22.
Joesph apparently died between 1850 (in census) and1856, when Mary married James Striker.
