Cpt James Miles III was born in 1744, in White Marsh, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His parents were James Miles III ​​ and Hannah Pugh. He married Susannah Rorke. Cpt James Miles III passed away 18 May 1798, in Milesburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania.[1][2]

There is conflicting information on date of death; Headstone states - May 18, 1798. Pennsylvania Veterans Burial Card states - September 11, 1797. We'll go with the headstone, as we know how typos can be made in the government.[3][4]

James was born in 1736. He passed away in 1798.

Miles-6016 and Miles-1850 appear to represent the same person because: Miles-6016 is not documented as reliably as Miles-1850. His wife Rorke-14 shows both Miles-6016 and Miles-1850 as spouse(s), and the Miles-1850 record needs to be the surviving record.
