Biography

Hughina Munro was born in October 1826 and baptised on 30 Nov 1826 in Durness, Sutherland, Scotland.[1] She was the daughter of William Munro and Annie MacKay.

Her family migrated to the Colony of New South Wales via the ship James Moran, which arrived on 11 February 1839.[2]

She married William Hollands by banns at Sutton Forest All Saints Church on 4th December 1845.[3][4]

They had a farm at Nerriga, New South Wales.

William died in 1875.[5]

She died in 1915.[6][7] She was buried in the Nerriga General Cemetery.[8]

Obituary

Mrs. William Hollands, of Nerriga, Shoalhaven district, died last week, having lived to the ripe old age of 85 years. "Granny," as she was familiarly called, had lived on her farm for over 50 years and reared a large family, her husband predeceasing her by some 40 years. Mrs. David Henry, late of Cobargo, was a daughter of deceased.[9]
