George Harrison Orr was born in Dixon, Pulaski County, Missouri on March 17, 1869. He was the son of Marvell Orr and Elizabeth Barnhart.
1870 Census - Swan Township, Taney County, Missouri George H. Orr is shown at age 1, in the 1870 census for Swan Township, Taney County, Missouri, living in the household of his father Marvel Orr and his mother Elizabeth Orr, with siblings, Matilda J. Orr age 5 and Mary T. Orr age 3.[1]
1880 Census - Boon Township, Maries County, Missouri George H. Orr is shown at age 11, in the 1880 census for Boon Township, Maries County, Missouri, living in the household of his father Marvel Orr and his mother Elizabeth Orr, with siblings, Matilda J. Orr age 15, Mary T. Orr age 13, Martha E. Orr age 9, James H. Orr age 7, Marilda Orr age 4, John W. Orr age 2, and Cora I. Orr who was just 2 months of age.[2]
George married Rhoda A. Prater on April 19, 1891 in Maries County, Missouri at the residence of Henry V. Prater, Rhoda's father. Rhoda's mother was Mary Ann Prater, formerly Williams. Rhoda was born in September of 1871 and died in 1965.[3]
George Orr died, at the age of 72, on April 6, 1941 at 3:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri.[4]
He was buried in Stokes Cemetery in Dixon, Missouri on April 8, 1941.[5]
