Hi Connie and thanks for the GedCom question.

Here is a link for help with Splitting a GedCom: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Splitting_a_GEDCOM. Maybe this will help explain about using only part of your family tree to create a GedCom.

I suggest that first you should just create a small GedCom of about 20 people. Get those through the GedCompare process and then create another GedCom slightly larger. Eventually, you will probably find that some of your ancestors have already been added to WikiTree and you can just connect to them.

Also, you will need to upgrade to FamilyMember (completely free) before adding a lot of your ancestors as Guests are limited to only a few. I hope this helps and please feel free to ask as questions arise.
