Inscription:

Sacred
TO THE MEMORY OF
PETER PERRY,
OF FISCAR IN THIS PARISH
Who departed this life
on the 23rd of Decr. 1854
AGED 71 YEARS.
'Be ye therefore ready for
in such an hour as ye think not the
son of man cometh.'

The following account of his death was published on page 8 of the Royal Cornwall Gazette dated 29 December 1854:

On the 26th inst., in the parish of Wendron, on the body of Peter Perry, aged about 7 years [sic], who lived at a place called Fiscor, in that parish. The deceased went to Helston market, on Saturday last, accompanied by a neighbour of the name of Ann Moyle, and returned from thence to his home about six o'clock in the evening. Shortly after his return he joined his family in taking some supper, and whilst sitting at the table with them he suddenly fell forward with his head on the table speechless, and apparently in a state of insensibility, and expired almost immediately. Verdict, "natural death".[6]
