Biography

John was born between 1801 and 1805 based on the 1841 England Census. John married Susannah Darby in 1822.^[1] John was a church sexton. In 1841, John and his wife along with 6 children were living on High Street in the St. Ives district of Somersham.^[2] In 1851, the family was still on High Street in Somersham.^[3] In 1861, the family was living on Main Street in Somersham.^[4] He probably died prior to the 1871 England Census.

Research Notes

Some children have been disconnected as must have been conflated with a different John Phillips from Inkberrow in Worcestershire. William Phillips (abt.1830-), George Phillips (1835-), and John Phillips (1841-)

A possible death entry was found in the St. Ives District in the March Quarter of 1864.^[5]
