Clara was born on the 25th August 1892 at the City of London Lying-in Hospital, City Road, Holborn, London, and her birth was registered on the 3rd September 1892, reference Holborn 1b/769. She was living at 84 Trafalgar Street, Walworth, Surrey. Her father Alfred Walter Pickup was shown as a warehouse porter, and mother Lucy Charlotte Pickup as formerly Guyatt. Clara's birth was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1892 in the Holborn district.[1][2][3]
Clara died, aged fifteen months, on the 1st December 1893 at 26 Castlemain Road, Peckham, London and her death was registered on the 7th December 1893, reference Camberwell 1d/697. Clara died of bronchitis according to an inquest held on the 6th December 1893. Clara was buried on the 8th December 1893 in Southwark, London.[4][5][6][7]
According to Edward James Pickup's Log Book, regarding Clara no name was known so he only stated 'daughter'. Edward James Pickup also referred to a Celia Pickup in his notes but it seems that he was meaning Clara as no records can be found in respect of Celia.[8]
