Biography

Research Notes

This profile previously said he was born in September 1706. This birth date is based on misinformation given in Austin's Vital Records of Rhode Island. He combined the children of Thomas Place, Sr., and Jr., probably due to confusion about the fire-damaged North Kingstown records. Samuel, son of Thomas and Hannah (Cole) Place, is very likely the child with the birth record that says "(---)ll Place born the 22nd day of Decembr 17(---)," estimated to be 1704. Samuel Place, son of Thomas, Jr., was born in September, year estimated to be 1734, this being another record damaged by fire.[1] His wikitree profile: Samuel Place.
