Biography

Marie Josèphe was born in 1763. She was the daughter of Pierre Poirier and Marie-Madeleine Forest. She was baptized on 14 September 1763 at Saint-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud. Her date of birth was omitted in the register. Her godparents were Joseph Forest and Marie Geneviève Destroismaisons.[1]

She married François Pellerin, son of Pierre Pellerin and Marie-Françoise Morin, on 16 January 1786 in Nicolet. [2] It was noted in the marriage record that parents of the bride and groom were Acadians. The witnesses were Pierre Poirier, Jean Poirier, Renaud(?) Forest, Pierre(?) Bourgeois and many others.
