Also the Felsted parish records do not go back to 1510, I can not figure out where the birth or baptismal date of 19 Jul 1510 comes from. If there is a record of such baptism for this man in this location, that doesn't match or align with information in the Image 1 family tree. I would like to remind folks that 'Select' record collections are the archived works of researchers who based their research off of published works that date back 150-200 years. We are today afford far great access to record collections and have the ability to improve the accuracy of this early research. That research while valuable and worthy of review should be verified with actual original records and validated by reviewing in narrow context that the local records fit the lifespan of the individual and in broader search of area that the selected individual/location remains a best fit, while exploring for co-existing family units. As an example there is a family entry for a John Porter baptism used as birth for one of my John Porters, but it is in fact the baptism for an earlier born son who died, and then the family had another son John.
Suggest removing Image 1 which has numerous errors and lacks sourcing in order to stem circulating these mistakes. I have been doing a thorough review of the Essex records to identify the origin of John Porter, born about 1560, husband to Sibyl Vessey, father to a John Porter who may be the American immigrant, many of us seek. My current impression of the records is that we will not be able to support with documentation his origin, John Porter (b. abt. 1560). If he is the man born in 1563 Doddington, his baptismal records shows his father was John and therefore that baptismal date does not match/link to Thomas Porter and Ann Calvert as parents. I have not found any will documents to link the Felsted Porters to Porters from other 'prior' locations. I am also not yet satisfied with the documentation that links the American John Porter to the Felsted Porters.
Please see Porter-15426. Same name, same spouse but wildly different death dates. Which one married this woman or does one profile just have wrong death date and they need to be merged???
