DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Dearest authorities on Proby lineage...

My cousin Jonathan Proby did 23 and me. We're trying to relate the 23 and me knowledge we have to tying our family to either Peter Proby or John Proby, MP. We did find out our yDNA marker, it is L-R44. Is there a way to use the 23 and me information to tie together in some way with existing DNA info for the Proby families?

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Proby Bright

PS: We have been to Elton and have outstanding relationships with William and Meredyth Proby.
