Biography

Catherine was born in Collingwood, Victoria in on the 24th December 1856.[1][2]


She was living in the same street, probably in the same house as her father and sister Idalia, 73 Tanner St. Richmond, when he died 1887-07-30.

She married James Thomson three months later, in Petersham, (Sydney) NSW.[3]


On the 17th October 1887 she is reported to have passed through Albury with her sister Mrs. Daly (misspelled) on their way to Sydney, she was married on the 20th at her sister, Helene Daley's home.[4]

The Sydney Mail and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW ) Sat 5 Nov 1887 THOMSON— RAKOWSKI— October 20, at the residence of the bride's sister, Wharfdale, Petersham. James Thomson, eldest son of the Rev. A. Thomson, Millerston, Glasgow, to Kate, third daughter of the late Severin A. Rakowski, Melbourne.[5]

The couple may have had 4 children, but only "Dallie" is mentioned in the death notice below.

Her youngest brother Charles Victor died in August 1927, mentioned here because the notices below point out her address and his alias.

She died the same year as her brother Charles Victor, in 1927 and is interred at Waverley Cemetery. [10]
