Biography

On 4 Jun 1900 at the time of the 1900 US Census, head of household James H. Randalls (age 37, born Sep 1863 in OH) was employed as a Grocer and living in a home he owned in Anthony Township, Harper, Kansas with his wife, Florence M. Randalls (age 34, born May 1866 in OH); daughter Mary A. Randalls (age 14, born Feb 1886 in OH); son Charles E. Randalls (age 13, born May 1887 in OH); son Francis E. Randalls (age 11, born May 1889 in KS); daughter Wilamina Randalls (age 9, born Aug 1891 in KS); son Lee W. Randalls (age 7, born Aug 1893 in KS); daughter Alta T. Randalls (age 5, born Sep 1895 in KS); son George B. Randalls (age 3, born Dec 1897 in KS); and servant Myrtle M. Daniels (age 38, born Dec 1862 in MI). James and Florence had been married for 15 years; Florence had given birth to seven children, all seven of whom were still alive at that time. Both of James's parents were born in Ohio; Florence's father was born in Ohio and her mother in Illinois. [1]

Francis was described as a "son" on the 1900 US Census, but appeared as a "sister-in-law" on the 1910 US Census: On 8 Jan 1920 at the time of the 1920 US Census, head of household WIlliam Poundstone (age 37, born in IL) was employed as a Superintendant of City Schools and living in a home he rented on North 4th Street in Marion, Kansas with his wife, Mary Poundstone (age 33, born in OH); daughter Mary C. Poundstone (age 1 year 10 months, born in KS); and Widowed sister-in-law Frances E. Fey (age 30, born in KS). Both of William's parents were born in Pennsylvania; both of Mary's parents were born in Ohio. [2]
