James Alexander Rankin was born at Native Dog Flat, near Nimmitabel, NSW, in 1868.[1] He was the son of Angus Rankin and Mary McDonald.
He died at Moree, NSW, in 1935,[2] and was buried in the Moree Cemetery.

The death occurred at the Moree District Hospital on Saturday of Mr. James Alexander Rankin, 65, a resident of Kyogle, who had been visiting Moree for the Bore Baths. He left a grown-up family of six, his wife having predeceased him. The funeral took place yesterday, the interment being in the R.C. portion of the Moree Cemetery. Messrs Logan and Co. were the undertakers.
