She married Andrew Colton in 1839.[1] They would have nine children.
In her older years Fidelia became quite deaf. One spring morning Andrew told her it was planting time and that he wanted her to help him grease the plow. He had to repeat it 3 times before she seemed to understand, and she answered, "Well, by jimmy jo, if I have to grease the sow, you'll have to hold her." [2]
Fidelia passed away in 1897 and is buried in the Antioch Cemetery, Frankfort, Marshall County, Kansas. [3]
