Biography
Norman Reed is one of twins.
Norman was born 2 Nov 1848 in Polo, Ogle County, Illinois. He was the son of Franklin Reed and Fannie Hicks.
In 1850 he was living in Buffalo Township, Ogle, Illinois.[1] The household included Franklin S Reed 33, Fanny Reed 28, Chas J Reed 6, Phebe A Reed 4, Norman H Reed 1 and Newton B Reed 1. Franklin was a farmer. Neighbors included Samuel Reed, Elisha Doty and Harrison Sanford. Fanny was born in Ohio.
In 1860 he was living in Buffalo, Ogle, Illinois.[2] The household included Franklin S Reed 42, Hannah Reed 40, Charles J Reed 16, Phebe Reed 15, Norman Reed 10, Newton Reed 10 and Clayton Reed 4. Franklin was a farmer. Hannah was born in Pennsylvania.
In 1870 he was living in Normal Township, McLean, Illinois.[3] The household included Franklin Reed 50, Hannah Reed 50, Norman Reed 21, Newton Reed 21, Cyrus Patternson 19, and Richard Pierce 40. Franklin was a farmer. Richard was a carpenter.
Norman H Reed and Isabell S Rugg were married 30 Apr 1873 in Livingston County, Illinois.[4][5]
In 1880 he was living in Pontiac, Livingston, Illinois.[6] The household included Norman Reed 31, wife Isabell Reed 29, daughter Fanny Reed 4 and son Lewis Reed 1. Norman was a tin smith.
In 1900 he was living in Township 2 Santa Barbara city Ward 6, 7, Santa Barbara, California.[7] The household included Norman H Reed 52, wife Isabelle S Reed 49, daughter Fanny S Reed 24, son Louis I Reed 22 and son Winfield N Reed 19. Norman and Isabell had been married 27 years. Isabell was the mother of 3 children, all living. Norman was a photographer. Fanny, Louis and Winfield, all single, were students.
In 1910 he was living in Santa Barbara Ward 7, Santa Barbara, California.[8] The household included Norman H Reed 60, wife Isabel S Reed 57 and daughter Fannie S Reed 35. Norman and Isabel had been married 37 years. Isabel was the mother of 3 children, all living. Norman was a portrait and view photographer. Fanny was single and was a public school teacher.
He died 17 Nov 1917 in Santa Barbara County, California[9][10]
and is buried in Santa Barbara Cemetery, Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County, California.[11]
