Biography

Ada Bell Reed

She was born in 1894 and is the daughter of William Reed and Bessie Keener. Ada grew up in Preston County, West Virginia along with her nine siblings; Edna Ellen Reed, Emery Olen Reed, Pauline MIldred Reed, Lucille Opal Reed, Jeanette Leverta Reed, Gladys Viola Reed, Hazel Delores Reed, Helen Freda Reed and Madelyn Ruth Reed.

Ada married Ernest William 'Dutch' Ghuste, Sr in 1910 and they made their home in Morgantown, West Virginia. Together they raised sixteen children; Paul D Ghuste, Elizabeth Viola Ghuste, Margaret Delores Ghuste, Ernest William Ghuste, Jr, Juanita Catherine Ghuste, Freda Irene Ghuste, Beatrice Alma Ghuste, Loretta Louise Ghuste, Edward August Ghuste, Sr, Alfred Charles Ghuste, Herman T Ghuste, Dorothy June Ghuste, Charles William 'Chuck' Ghuste, Sr, Edna Rebecca Ghuste, Howard Wayne Ghuste and Mary Elouise Ghuste. Ada died in 1966 and is buried in East Oak Grove, Morgantown, West Virginia.

• Nieman Clan History compiled by Helen Marie (Newcomer) Maust. Aunt Helen attended most all the Nieman Family Reunions and the Frankhouser Family Reunions. She gathered information from family members who attended the Reunions over the years sharing information about family lore and updated information about each branch. Around 1980 she put information together by typewriter and created a very large document that included all of the information about the Nieman and Frankhouser clans. Both branches intertwined in various ways and trace back to the common ancestors of John Blosser who emigrated from Switzerland and was of German origin.
