The death of Mrs. Mary E., widow of the late Judge John Porter, took place the evening before at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Donahue in Kansas City, Kansas. ...Mrs. Mary E. Robb Porter was born in Pennsylvania and married Judge John Porter in Huntingdon county 25 January 1847. They came to Illinois in 1850 and Monmouth was their home for many years. The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Sarah Donahue, Kansas City Robert Porter, Chicago, Mrs. Nancy Butler, Chicago, Silas W. Porter, Kansas City, Kansas, Charles Porter, Chicago and Mrs. Ella Gillespie, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[1]

Mary is found in the 1860 Census at age 37 living in Monmouth, IL with her husband John and children Mary L, Sarah H, James A, Nannie, Silas, and Chas. H, and possible relation Wilkins Robb (age 80).[3]
Mary is found in the 1870 Census at age 47 living in Monmouth, IL with her husband John and children Mary, Sarah H. James, Nannie, Silas, Charlie, and Ellie. [4]
Mary is found in the 1880 Census at age 57 living in Monmouth, IL with her husband John and children Mary L, Nannie B, Silas, Charles H, and Ella.[5]
Mary died in 1897 and is buried in Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL[6]
