Biography

James Robenstine has German Roots.
James Robenstine was an Ohioan.

James, son of Urias Robenstine and Emma Augusta Lutz, was born 24 September 1874 in Portage County, Ohio.[1] In 1880, six-year-old James resided with his parents Urias (age 28, carpenter) and Emma A. (22, b. Illinois), and siblings Roy "Newton" (5), Grant Henry (4) and John "Aaron (1) in Suffield Township, Portage County.[2]

James (age 35, clayworker) continued to live with his parents Urias (58, farmer) and Emma (52, mother of 10, all living) on the farm they owned in Suffield with his sisters Bessie J. (16) and Lotta Marie "Lottie" (14).[3]

His draft registration describes him as short and stout with blue eyes and black hair.[4] At that time he was a thresher.[4]

Still a bachelor at age 45, James E. (bead curer at the rubber shop) resided at home with Urias (age 68, house carpenter) and Emma E. Robenstine (62), his sister Lotta M. (24) and her husband Paul Roe Taylor (24, calendar man at the rubber shop), and Lotta's son by her first marriage Richard Urias "Dick" Cain (4).[5]

James died 21 June 1935 in Suffield Township,[1] and was buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Akron, Summit County, Ohio,[6] There is no evidence that he ever married or had children.
