Biography

Louis Edmond was the son of Anselme Ruelle and Anastasie Gosselin of St-Charles. He was born 15 Mar 1860 and was baptized the same day in St-Gervais de Bellechasse. His godparents were Nicolas Beaudoin and Marie Lafontaine, no signatures. [1]

On 26 Dec 1881, in Adams, Massachusetts, Louis Rouell, 21 year old wagon maker born in Canada, son of Oscene and Anistacia married Ada Gaudette, 20 years old born in Adams, daughter of Anthony and Rosa. It was the first marriage for each of them. [2]

Louis Ruel remarried in Oct 1914. A death certificate possibly belonging to his wife has the following information:

She was born in Adams, Massachusetts, was 51 years and 10 months old and was the daughter of Anthony Gaudette, born in Canada, and Rosella Spring, born in Adams, Massachusetts. The informant was Marie E. ONeill, of the above address, possibly her daughter who married a George ONeill (see obituary below). She was buried in Pittsville, Massachusetts 7-12-1913. [3]

On 12 Oct 1914, in Adams, Massachusetts, Louis Ruel, 54 year old wagon maker born in Canada, son of Samuel and Anna Gosselin married Belznire Bedard, 39 years old born in Canada, daughter of Sifroid and Maire (sic) Dion. It was the second marriage for each of them. [4]

Louis Ruel died 9 Feb 1927 in Plunkett Memorial Hospital, Adams, Massachusetts. His Obituary reads: [5]

Louis Ruel, 66, of Cheshire Harbor died early this morning at Plunkett Memorial Hospital following an operation for mastoid which he underwent recently.
