Mary was one of the Hampton Court Beauties painted in the 1690s by Sir Godfrey Kneller for Queen Mary. There were eight portraits, Isabella Bennet, Duchess of Grafton, Margaret Cecil, Countess of Ranelagh, Carey Fraser, Countess of Peterborough, Frances Whitmore, Lady Middleton, Mary Scrope, later Mrs Pitt, Diana De Vere, Duchess of St Albans, Lady Mary Bentinck, Countess of Essex, and Mary Compton, Countess of Dorset. All eight portraits hang in Hampton Court Palace. [2]
