Biography

John was born to John and Rebecca Greenhill Shepard on January 22, 1653 at Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sometime during his childhood the family relocated to Hartford, Connecticut.[1] He married Hannah Peck[2] on May 12, 1680 and they had at least seven children together.[3] John married the widow of Jonathan Bigelow, Mary Benton as his second wife.[4]

John was known as "Deacon John Shepard" for his service to the South Church in Hartford. He died sometime before his will was proved on April 6, 1736.[1]
