Biography

Louisa was born in 1863.

In the 1871 census she is eight years old and living at home in King, York, Ontario with her parents and seven siblings, and one of her grandmothers.

By 1881 the family are farming in Mersea, Essex.

In 1891 Louisa is married and living next door to her parents. She has two young sons and her husband is a farm labourer. By 1901 they had four children at home, and the same four in 1911. In 1911 they had either moved or the enumeration districts changed, because they are listed in Rochester, Essex (very close to Mersea). In 1921 Alfred and Louisa are living in the town of Leamington in Essex, on Marlboro street. Alfred is 63 and still lists his occupation as farmer.

At the time of the 1931 census, "Louisea H" is 68 years old, widowed, and living alone at 42 Marlborough East in Leamington. She owns her single-family home, which has a value of $3000, is made of wood, and has 8 rooms. [1]

Louisa passed away in 1959.
