Biography

Abraham was born in 1812 in Virginia. He died married on August 10 1892 at the age of 80 year, 0 months and 30 days from pulmonary tuberculosis. He had suffered from this for 18 months. Burial was at Charlottesville Cemetery, Lawrence County Illinois but no stone marks his grave.

Parents: Joseph Shockey 1767 - 1861 and Polly (Jones) Shockey 1776 - 1823.

1) His death record lists him as married but Matilda died in 1876 - was he married a 2nd time? Matilda's burial page has a note that she was his 1st wife. Who did he marry 2nd?

2) Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on GEDmatch who share a 7 cM segment on chromosome 12, consisting of Larry Smith, GEDmatch kit # AZ5955167, and E Wotring, his 7th cousin, GEDmatch kit # T621318, and Camelia Crapo, his 6th cousin 1x removed, GEDmatch kit # LL1278681. (E Wotring and Camelia Crapo are 7th cousins 1x removed.)
