William Simmons arrived in New England by 1635, first settling in Ipswich. He removed to Haverhill in 1657.[1]
His wife Elizabeth is named with him in local records. Her origin and birth name are not known.[1]
They had two known children:[1]
Citing lack of evidence, Anderson does not accept John Simmons of Rowley and Bradford as a child of this family.[1]
William's precise date of decease is not known, but administration was granted on his estate on 8 Oct 1667, and an inquest into his "untimely death" was conducted by the court in 1668.[1]
