Lyman married Mary O. Griffin on March 7, 1861 in Thomas County, Georgia.[2] They had at least 3 children, 2 of whom were living by 1910.[3] In the 1880 census, the children listed are Mary E. Sirmans, born 1865, and Noble A. Sirmans, born 1868.[4]
Col. Lyman Sirmans, 70, died in April 22, 1910 at Dupont, Georgia.[5] He was formerly of Stone Mountain, Georgia, uncle of Senator F. B. Sermons and B. F. Strickland, brother in-law of J. R. Padgett of Atlanta. Leaves wife, son and daughter.[5]
