Bengt Nilsson was born about 1550. He was a tailor (skräddare) and became the Mayor of the town of Nyköping in Södermanland. He married Anna Andersdotter, the daughter of Mayor Anders Persson and his wife Elin Larsdotter. Elin was the daughter of Brita Eriksdotter Soop and granddaugter of Märta, or Maria, Pedersdotter Skytte. Elin and Bengt had three children.
His second marriage was to Elisabet Nilsdotter. They had one son together.
Bengt was still alive in 1603.[1]
