Aphallin Slayden was born about 1804 in Virginia.[1] Her given name appears as Aphiallin, Affalin, and many other variations.
She married James T. Hall, a blacksmith, surmised from census clues.[1], but she appears as widowed or divorced by 1860. [2] [3]
Possible children: James T. (Jr), George W., Joseph, Matthew, and Henry Hall.
Because Matthew and "Natthen" show age continuation from 1850 to 1860, they appear to be the same son Matthew poorly recorded in 1860.
Identified in her father Thomas Slayden's will: Know by all men by these presents that Thomas Slaydon of the county of Gibson and State of Tennessee ....Third I give and bequeath to my daughter Affialen Hall one tenth of my estate after the death of my Self & wife together with the added sum of one hundred dollars whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal...18th day of January [1858] ... Codicil - [upon reflection I think it wrong to] set apart to my daughter Affialen Hall [the sum of $100] she should be made equal with the balance and no more... 24th May 1858.[4]
At the administration of her father's estate, she is named as suing Asenath Mays et al, over the distribution of the sale amount received from a house and lot in Trenton, Gibson County, Tennessee, presumably part of their father's estate. [5]
Vital dates from reported burial at Hall Family Cemetery in Dyer, GIbson, Tennessee, not verified.
A confirmatory marriage record to James T. Hall.
